For Immediate Release:
Schultz-Creehan LLC to Participate in “Food Chain Challenge”
Schultz-Creehan supports local community food bank through the “Food Chain Challenge” coordinated by the United Way of Montgomery, Radford, and Floyd
Blacksburg, Virginia- October 8, 2008. The United Way of Montgomery, Radford, and Floyd has collaborated with local businesses to launch the “Food Chain Challenge”, a food drive to benefit the Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program. This program serves as the main food pantry in Montgomery County, supplying food and essential items to families and individuals need. This critical service which has already provided aid to 400 additional families this year is currently facing a crisis; the food pantry is now depleted. It is critical that the community and local businesses come together and provide aid in this crisis.
Schultz-Creehan, LLC, is one of the local businesses taking part. While they only have 14 employees, their dedication to the community and service leadership is significant. Schultz-Creehan has challenged the entire KnowledgeWorks building, located in the Corporate Research Center at Virginia Tech, in a competition to collect the largest amount of food and supplies. Schultz-Creehan, hopes that their efforts in the Food Chain Challenge will encourage other businesses to get involved, demonstrating that even the smallest companies can make a difference.
Schultz-Creehan is a first time participant in the United Way. They are currently taking part in the “First and Goal” program, a network of small businesses selected for their strong leadership to inspire other local companies to get involved in the community.
